This page states plainly what Learn Desmos is, what it is not, and how to read the one number on the site that is easy to misread.
Short version: it is an independent course written by one person, it has no connection to the organisations that make the test or the calculator, and it cannot promise you a score.
An independent resource
Learn Desmos is an independent study resource. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by, or in any way officially connected to College Board or to Desmos Studio PBC.
Nothing on this site is an official SAT product, an official Desmos product, or reviewed by either organisation. Course content, practice questions and opinions here are the author’s own.
Trademarks
SAT and Bluebook are trademarks of College Board. Desmos is a trademark of Desmos Studio PBC. Those names appear on this site only to describe, accurately, what the course teaches and which tools it uses. No official logos, brand assets or other proprietary marks are used, and no claim is made to any of these marks.
What the 53.55% figure means
The figure shown on the home page is a coverage estimate: it is the sum of two section estimates documented in this curriculum — Graphing 25.24% plus Regression 28.31%.
It is the course author’s own analysis of the SAT Math question types this method addresses. It is not published by College Board, it is not an official statistic, and it has not been verified by anyone outside this project.
Reading it correctly:
- It describes the share of question types the method addresses. It does not describe questions you are certain to answer correctly.
- It is an estimate. The mix of question types differs from one exam to the next, so what you meet on test day will not match the figure exactly.
- Section 1 (Prerequisites) claims no share of its own. It teaches the calculator itself, and those skills are used throughout the other two sections.
- It is not a score, not a score prediction, and not a promise of any result.
The same explanation is available from the home page, at coverage methodology.
No score is guaranteed
No course can guarantee an SAT score, a score increase, or an admission outcome, and this one does not. Results depend on your starting point, how much of the course you actually work through, and the exam you sit. Treat any claim to the contrary — here or anywhere else — as a reason for suspicion.
Testimonials marked “Placeholder”
Quotes on this site labelled Placeholder are sample text written while the page was being built. They are not real reviews, they do not describe real students, and the score changes in them did not happen. They exist so the layout can be designed honestly, and they will be replaced with real, permissioned quotes or removed.
Course content and accuracy
The practice questions here are original, written in the style of hard SAT Math questions. They are not real, released or leaked exam questions, and no official exam material is reproduced. Every question is checked before it is published, but errors are still possible — if you find one, please report it to info@learndesmos.com and it will be corrected.
The calculator and the test tools are maintained by their own owners and change over time. If the behaviour you see in a lesson video differs from the tool in front of you, trust the official tool.
Use the official resources too
This course is a supplement to official preparation, not a replacement for it. Practise on the real thing:
